A day after the All India Jat Aarakshan Sanghrash Samiti (AIJASS) announced to launch a fresh agitation over their demands, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal on Monday hit back at the Jat leaders.

Reacting to the announcement of Jat leader  Yashpal Malik that protest dharnas will be held at public events of Chief Minister Manohar Lal and Finance Minister Capt. Abhimanyu, Manohar Lal said that it is serious matter the way some people are challenging the CM and Minister directly.

“We will give a befitting reply to them. We will take legal action on this accordingly,” he said while talking to the mediapersons in Karnal.

The AIJASS had announced to hold protest dharnas at public events of CM and Finance Minister in rural areas of Rohtak, Jhajjar, Dadri, Bhiwani, Hisar, Kaithal, Jind, Panipat, Sonipat from August 16 onwards.

The Jat leader had also asked the Haryana Government to fix a deadline to fulfill all demands of the Jat community.  Jats will hold programmes in poll-bound Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh to apprize people about the injustice done to the community by the BJP, Yashpal Malik had said.

The Jat community has been demanding reservation in  Government jobs and educational institutions, general amnesty for those booked during the February 2016 Jat quota violence, reconsideration of criminal cases lodged against Jat agitators since 2010 and permanent jobs to next-of-kin of those killed and those maimed during the 2016 Jat agitation in Haryana.

The 2016 Jat agitation had left 31 people dead, wounded more than 200, destroyed property worth hundreds of crores of rupees bringing Haryana and adjoining areas to a halt for more than 10 days.
