New Delhi, Children should be made responsible citizens, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu averred on Tuesday.He was interacting with children from the GD Goenka La’Petite preschool, who had come to wish him on Independence Day here.
‘Guru plays the most important role in building up the future of our nation by educating children. Technology is also important, but Google can never replace the guru,’ he told the teachers present, an official release here said.
‘Mother is the first teacher to a child and they should be taught about Mother, Motherland and Mother tongue,’ he told the little ones, adding that they should be taught about Indian traditions and rich cultural heritage.
Their education should begin with a good grounding in their mother tongue, he stressed.He advised the teachers to take the responsibility of transforming children into responsible citizens.
