Accused in 15-year-old triple murder case held

The Crime Branch here has succeeded in nabbing four persons allegedly involved in murder of three persons 15 years ago.

The accused were nabbed from Durg in Chhattisgarh and Balaghat in Madhya Pradesh.

Superintendent of Police (SP), Mahasamund, Santosh Singh briefing the media persons informed that the matter was 15 years old in which a gang of tribal community of Bhimkhoj executed an incident of loot.

After the crime, there was dispute among two of the groups among them on distribution of valuables and cash.  The dispute took a serious proportion and three among them were killed and several got injured.

The Police after the incident registered case against 20 of them under relevant sections and nabbed five of the culprits at that time. On Monday ,the police succeeded in nabbing one of the accused Dinesh Beldar who was sentenced to life imprisonment and who fled from Medical College Hospital Raipur by tricking the police personnel after remaining in prison for 12 years.

Dinesh and other three accused were arrested by the police from Durg in Chhattisgarh and Balaghat region of Madhya Pradesh, the official informed.

The official further asserted that it was difficult for the police to identify them and as they were residing there hiding their identity and also because their face had changed with time.
