Human books narrate stories at ‘Kitaab Connect’

The city book lovers became the ‘human books’ to tell the untold stories at the event ‘Kitaab Connect’. One of its kind event was held here on Monday at Hotel Aditya Residency.

The event was jointly organised by Hotel Aditya Residency and VConnect Media where five human books narrated their stories to the readers. At Kitaab Connect, books in human form were introduced to the readers.

One of the organizers Megha Gajbhaiye said, “Everyone has a story to tell and we often miss out on the stories around us. To create a connection and fill the gap with those untold stories we organised this event.”

At the event Ansh Happiness Society was also felicitated for their amazing contribution towards society and staging Nukkad Marathon-Zindagi ka Tamaashaa.

In an interactive session with human books, readers talked to the books, expressed their concerns, cleared their queries and had a good chat with the books. All the five books were from Bhopal, who shared their experiences and struggle for bringing a small change and contribute towards making the world a better place.

The book ‘The Altruist’ was about a housewife Neha Mamtani, who teaches about 40 slum children in her own house without any external support. She had to separate from her family to support these children so that they can have a bright future.

‘Breaking Barriers’ is the story of India’s first wrestling coach Fatima Bano and her story of struggle and success.

‘The Gifted One’ is the life story of CA Santwana Aras who suffers from SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) which disables her 80 % of the body but that could not stop her from chasing her dreams. She is a CA, a motivational speaker and a runs an NGO.

‘Kissa-e-Bhopal’ was narrated by famous architect S.M. Hussain. He combined the history and architecture of Bhopal which was very enticing to the readers.

The book ‘Weird in Town’ dealt with the issue of sexuality where Shivangi Singh talked about sexuality is seen as the personality of a person and not as the choice of the person.

More than 60 readers and many guests were present to witness Kitaab Connect.
