Dr. Ngwira appointed as new ATB board member

Dr. Percy is an experienced public servant, diplomat, and a highly-qualified and veteran tourism professional armed with more than 15 years of work experience in the tourism sector and over 5 years in diplomatic and international relations. His professional experience and career development spans at both local and international levels.

 

The African Tourism Board is known for responsible development of travel and tourism across the African region.

 

A renowned academician, Dr. Ngwira comes with a PhD in Tourism Management (Spain), an MA in Diplomatic Studies (United Kindom), an M.Sc in International Rural Development with specialization in Tourism Management (United Kingdom), a BA in Hotel, Tourism and Catering Management (Hong Kong SAR, China), and a Diploma in Hotel and Tourism Management (Zambia).

 

Dr. Ngwira believes that tourism is a key driver of socio-economic growth and development, with significant impact on poverty reduction, revenue generation, job creation, investment, infrastructure development, and the support of social cohesion. Dr. Ngwira believes that tourism can motivate people and communities and make a meaningful contribution to the overall global development.

 

In collaboration with private and public sector members, ATB increases the sustainable growth, value, and quality of travel and tourism to and from Africa.
