2 girls die, three others critical of JSpur family

Two minor girls reportedly died and three others of a family were critical and were undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Cuttack due to suspected consumption of wild mushroom in Salampur village under Tirtol area on Saturday. Reports said that one Bijaya Ragada’s two minor daughters Swati and Pinki suffered from fever and vomiting two days ago. Later, they had been brought to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) here for treatment but Swati died while undergoing treatment and Pinki died at the Shisu Bhawan in Cuttack on Saturday. Meanwhile, family’s another three members, including Bijaya himself and his another daughter and niece Rajashree developed symptoms of the same decease and were immediately shifted to a private hospital in Cuttack for treatment. Family sources revealed that their condition was stable. Meanwhile, a medical team from the DHH visited Salampur village on Saturday and inquired into details of the disease. It will submit a report to the CDMO. The family members had consumed wild mushroom and may have been affected by food poisoning, sources added.
