Haryana to launch Ayushman Bharat on August 15

Haryana would launch the pilot project of ‘Ayushman Bharat’ in 22 district hospitals, one ESI and one medical college of the state on August 15.

Besides this, a target has been fixed to open 24 such Wellness Centres by August 15 and 200 by the year end, in the state, said Health Minister Anil Vij after presiding over a review meeting regarding Ayushman Bharat, Haryana with officers of the Department,.

He said that said that  under the scheme, medical facility up to Rs  five lakh would be provided to 15.50 lakh families, free of cost.  Initially, this facility would be provided in government hospitals, which would later be initiated in empanelled private hospitals.

Under this scheme, all the beneficiaries would have letter from Prime Minister Office, through which they could avail of the services by showing the letter at hospitals. 

Vij said that Ayushman Mitr would be deputed in the hospitals to guide and help the patients coming to hospital for treatment. For this purpose, 170 Ayushman Mitrs are being imparted training in Chandigarh. A team of Central Government is imparting the training to apprise them of their duties.

The government has given approval for the construction of 400 Wellness Centres in the state, where patients would be provided with appropriate facilities, he added.
