Classical event at Bharat Bhavan enthrals audience

The blend of different rhythms under one roof enthralled the audience on Monday evening at Bharat Bhavan. The young and the renowned instrumentalists performed at a single platform, on the sixth day of Dinmaan Festival. It was a wondurful experience for the Bhopalites.

The Bhopalites witnessed a soothing evening with the classical musical event held at Antrang Hall, Bharat Bhavan. The evening began with the performance by renowned Santoor player Satyendra Singh Solanki and a youth icon Bhaskar Das, classical flutist gave a mesmerizing performance before the classical music lovers of the city.

The fine jugalbandi of santoor and flute mesmerized the audience. The audience listened to their compositions with rapt attention in Ek Taal and Teen Taal wherein they played evening Ragas with Alaap and Jod Jhala.

As they began playing the rhythms captivated the attention of the audiences and maintained the interest of theirs.

The evening was followed with the Pakhawaj jugalbandi by two young artists Anuja Borude and Gargi Shezwal. After alaap they performed Chautaal.  Chautaal, notably is strongly linked to the pakhawaj tradition. This has profound practical and theoretical implications.  It is performed in a very heavy, powerful manner which is in sharp contrast to the more delicate style of the tabla.

The listeners were spell-bound with the performance on the eve.

It was followed with the performance by Sahana Banerjee on Sitar and Smith Tiwari on Sarod. The soothing performance was liked by everybody.

The last performance was an energetic one wherein two young maestros combined their skills at its best. Sarangi players Farooq Latif and Sarwar Hussain were like fire on the stage as they played their jugalbandi.

The innovation they brought into his compositions makes him different from others composers. As they started off the audiences were awestruck to witness the programme.

The involvement of youngsters among the audiences was heartwarming. It was a real treat for the classical music lovers who were present at Bharat Bhavan Auditorium to witness the young classical players performing live.
