Ujjain: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan’s tour programme to the Mahakal City was cancelled at the eleventh hour on Monday afternoon. The CM was scheduled to arrive here from Bhopal at 12.35 noon by a chopper and was to leave for Indore at 7.15 pm by car.
CM had regularly visited the Mahakal temple and accompanied the procession during the Shravan month after worship of the deity. According to official sources, the CM left his house to the State hanger, but cancelled his Ujjain visit and held discussions over certain important issues with the top officials in Bhopal. Till then confusion prevailed about his arrival.
This was third Monday of Shravan month and a large number of devotees from Gujarat and Maharashtra besides other places thronged in large numbers here. The CM’s wife Sadhana Singh however, arrived here in the afternoon as usual, and performed worship. A senior official told Free Press that the CM would now come on August 20 during the fourth procession of Lord Mahakal.
