Stating that the government has successfully achieved higher visibility in the capital city works within a short period, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu instructed the officials of AP-Capital Region Development Authority (AP-CRDA) to continue the same tempo to achieve maximum progress in the construction of the five towers of the Secretariat and Heads of Departments (HoDs) offices above ground level in the next eight months.
In an interaction with AP-CRDA officials through a teleconference, Mr. Naidu stressed the need for increased speed in construction works without compromising on quality and highlight the work progress. Officials informed the CM that they targeted completion of the entire construction of the Secretariat and HoDs towers in about 29 months from the beginning of works. They said the seed access road has already been completed to the extent of 86% and other roads up to 60%.
Mr. Naidu opined that the progress in Amaravati and key features of the people’s capital should be reflected in the tableau by APCRDA at the Independence Day celebrations.
Weekly plans
Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana said the APCRDA was working with weekly plans for the construction of multistoried apartments for legislators, senior officers and staff to reach the targets and it was aimed to augment the infrastructure so as to cater to at least one lakh people in Amaravati by August, 2019.
Amaravati Development Corporation chairperson D. Lakshmi Parthasarathy, Principal Secretary (CRDA) Ajay Jain, CRDA Commissioner Ch.Sreedhar, special commissioner V. Rama Manohara Rao and additional commissioner S. Shan Mohan were among those present.
