The ruling AIADMK today announced convening a meeting of its key decision-making body, the Executive Committee, on August 20.
Party Coordinator O Panneerselvam and Joint Coordinator K Palaniswami said in a statement here that the meeting will be held under the leadership of AIADMK presidium chairman E Madhusudhanan.
The meeting, the second one after the factions led by the two leaders merged last year, will be held at the party headquarters at 4 PM, they said.
The previous executive committee meeting, held along with the general council on September 12, 2017, had then sacked its jailed leader VK Sasikala as the interim general secretary, asserting the supremacy of Chief Minister Palaniswami and his deputy Panneerselvam in the ruling party.
The factions headed by the two leaders had earlier merged in August last year.
