H.D. Kumaraswamy, Chief Minister, was guided by his elder brother and Minister for Public Works H.D. Revanna during their visit to temples in Holenarasipur taluk, their native place, on Monday.
It has been the practice of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda’s family to visit temples in Holenarasipur on the beginning of Shravana, that is considered to be an auspicious month.
Mr. Kumaraswamy had reached Hassan late at night on Sunday. He and his wife Anitha Kumaraswamy reached Haradanahalli well before Mr. Revanna did. Interestingly, the CM did not get out of his car until his brother arrived and told him to join him.
Mr. Revanna, who is also Minister in-charge of Hassan district, had made arrangements for the special pooja at Eshwara temple in the village. With the help of the police, he had imposed restrictions on the movement of journalists in the temple premises. He did not want religious programmes captured by lensmen.
B-forms
Mr. Revanna was seen giving instructions to his younger brother on the direction in which he had to enter the temple and how to perform the pooja.
The Minister placed copies of B-forms, meant to be distributed to the candidates of urban local bodies in Hassan district for the pooja. The CM was taken to Lakshmi Ranganath Temple at Mavinakere and Lakshmi Narasimha Temple in Holenarasipur town. Mr. Deve Gowda and other members of the family accompanied the CM.
Mr. Kumaraswamy told presspersons that he was on a visit to temples to seek blessings to do good for people of the State. “My intention is not only to give a stable government but also to ensure a pro-people administration,” he said.
