Woman arrested for ‘instigating’ 46-year-old man’s murder in Mumbai

The woman, Heena Salim Shaikh, has been taken into custody. Police are further investigating the crime.

A 20-year-old woman, the girlfriend of a man who allegedly murdered a a 46-year-old man on Saturday, was arrested on Sunday.

The Mankhurd police are still searching for the main accused, Murgesh, alias, Murgan Anna, who killed the victim, Bakridi Khan, a resident of Mankhurd.

Khan and Anna were drinking on Friday night, when they had a quarrel over Anna’s girlfriend, Heena Salim Shaikh. Khan started abusing Heena and in a fit of rage, Anna allegedly assaulted Khan, which led to his death, around 5am.

Nitin Bobade, senior inspector, Mankhurd police station, said, “The woman has been arrested and is in custody, while the accused, Anna is absconding. During the investigation, we found Heena had instigated Anna to assault and hit Khan. Hence, she had a role in the murder of Khan. We have registered a murder case and are further investigating the matter.”
