As Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan sat down to launch Sui Dhaaga trailer on Monday, among the first questions she was asked had to do with trolling after she posed with the Indian cricket team in London. Before she could reply, her co-star from the film, Varun Dhawan decided to take a witty jibe. “I have also played a dog in Sui Dhaaga so I can bite you too,” he said at the press event and made everyone break into a fit of laughter.

Anushka Sharma was recently trolled and criticised for posing with her husband Virat Kohli and the rest of the Indian team at the High Commission of India in London. The picture was shared by the official BCCI Twitter handle last week and included no other wives or girlfriends of the team members. However, the BCCI soon made a clarification and said that no official protocol was broken as the Indian High Commission had invited all the players along with their families.

Anushka also replied to the question and said she doesn’t want to give the topic any more attention. “About this incident, whoever had to make a clarification, the clarification has been made. This was a trolling activity. I don’t react to trolls and give any attention to them. Whatever happened had happened within the guidelines and will always do so. Let’s not make a hue and cry about a topic of no substance.”

Anushka and Varun have come together for the first time on-screen in Sui Dhaaga and beautifully portray a heartwarming story of pride and self reliance while taking the message of ‘Made in India’ forward. In the film, Varun plays Mauji, a tailor and an office peon. After being ridiculed by his employers, his wife Mamta (played by Anushka) makes him realise his potential and coaxes Mauji to start his own business. The trailer then follows the hardships that the couple faces as they work towards setting up their business.

Directed by Sharat Katatria, Sui Dhaaga is all set to hit the big screens on September 28.
