In the controversial death case of Advocate and Right To Information (RTI) activist Rajesh Suri, the High Court has given the order to the District Court for giving a final investigation report in the case and submit it within a time of four weeks. The high court division bench of acting chief justice Rajeev Sharma and justice Manoj Kumar Tiwari issued this order recently.

It will be recalled that  on November 30, 2014 under mysterious circumstances, advocate Rajesh Suri died while returning from Nanital. The post mortem report cited heart attack as probable cause of death but the viscera report had reportedly highlighted the presence of poison.

Sister of the late advocate, Rita Suri had filed a police case, and a lawsuit was also filed in this case. On December 5, 2014, police filed murder case and on October 26, 2016, filed an FIR reportedly without informing the family.

Rita Suri alleged that her brother was a whistleblower in controversial cases which involve both Government officials and high-profile names which became the reason for his death.

She had further alleged that the officials and police had tried to suppress the case on more than one occasion as it involves various land scams and high profile names.
