Police Parvez Ahmad, killed in a gunfight with terrorists in Srinagar, was laid to rest today with full honours at his ancestral village in district near here with a large number of people, including senior Army and police officers, attending his last rites braving incessant rains.

A pall of gloom descended on the village and adjoining areas after the of Ahmad's death spread and the people started assembling at his residence to join his funeral prayers.

Senior officers, including Rajouri's of Police Yougal Manhas, T P Sharma, the Commanding of 60 Rashtriya Rifles, Commandant Liaqat Chowdhary, the in-charge of the second battalion of and (Revenue) attended the funeral procession of the martyr and paid rich tributes to him, the said.
