Indore: IMC beldaar Aslam Khan’s family members also to be made accused


Indore: Lokayukta police who had raided houses of Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) beldaar Aslam Khan and unearthed assets worth crores of rupees, said that they would also make his family members  accused in the corruption case.

“In our investigation, it has been established that some of his family members were party to his corrupt practices. We are going to make them also accused in the case,” said a Lokayukta police official wishing anonymity. During raids, Lokayukta police seized 60 IMC files from house of Iqbal Khan, a municipal inspector and brother of Aslam Khan.

The sleuths are investigating how files reached his home. Besides, it was learnt that Iqbal gifted a shop to his brother Aslam. His other brother Ezaj Khan and his wife are contractors. It is learnt that they took help of Aslam Khan in obtaining construction contracts.


As reported earlier, Lokayukta police raided house of Aslam Khan, a class IV employee at IMC, last Monday and unearthed assets worth crores of rupees, which are disproportionate to his known sources of income. Documents of 21 immovable properties, Rs 25 lakh in cash, 2 kilograms of gold ornaments were found from his house. Besides, the sleuths have also come to know about 20 of his bank accounts.

Police to probe accreditation card case

DIG Harinarayanachari Mishra on Sunday asked Sanyogitaganj police station staff to look into a complaint of fake accreditation card possessed by Aslam Khan. During raid on his house, Lokayukta police had found an accreditation card issued to mediapersons by department of public relations.

Claiming that it did not issue any card to Aslam Khan, local DPR office lodged complaint with Mishra against Khan. A newspaper establishment had also lodged complaint with police on Saturday stating that its name was misused for making card for Aslam Khan.
