Min: Haryana Govt Rs 100 cr to ensure timely payment to workers

Haryana Finance Minister, Captain Abhimanyu said that the Government has made a revolving fund of Rs 100 crore to  ensure timely payments to the workers of the State. As soon as the work gets completed, the payment would be deposited in the accounts of workers, he said adding that the decision has been taken to remove any delay in payments to them.

Captain Abhimanyu while talking to the mediapersons after the felicitation and awareness program of MNREGA Workers’ Association in grain market at Narnaund (Hisar) said that MNREGA scheme was started by the Central Government in 2005.

He said that the workers of Haryana are being given Rs 281 per day which is highest in the country.

The Finance Minister said that during the last around four years tenure of the present Government, more man-days have been created in Haryana under MNREGA.

Captain Abhimanyu said that in order to include the work of Irrigation Department in Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA), he had met Union Rural Development Minister,  Narendra Singh Tomar recently. The Union Minister has assured to take positive decisions in this direction and to enhance the wages of the workers, he said.

The Minister further said that this could be announced in the next Budget session.
