LUCKNOW: BJP is going to use Prime Minister Narendra Modi's personality in a big way to not only woo voters, but also inspire its foot soldiers in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Armed with an assortment of Modi app, his programmes, his speeches and a documentary on him, they would fan out across the after August 15 to launch a grassroots-level offensive against political opponents.

At the two-day state executive of the party, which concluded in Meerut on Sunday, the party decided to play up 'Brand Modi' to make the most of the vacuum of leadership in the rival camps to repeat its 2014 performance.

In order to aggressively market 'Brand Modi', a documentary on his childhood was shown on the first day of the executive meet, highlighting the struggles and the hardship he faced and toiled his way to the top post of the country. Members attending the meet were told to learn from his life and his struggle and how he has devoted and sacrificed his entire life for the nation. They were also exhorted to propagate his message to the grassroots level .

On the second day of the meet on Sunday, BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya called upon senior leaders and members to download the Modi App in their smartphones so that they remain connected to the prime minister, who can call them any time.

And above all, participants - including all MPs, ministers, MLAs, office-bearers and general secretaries - were told that that the Modi government's programmes would work wonders in the 2019 elections and they should carry this message to the people, especially the poor, Dalits and OBCs.

While addressing MPs, ministers and MLAs after concluding his address at the state executive, the party chief exhorted that the Opposition had no face to counter Narendra Modi's name and charisma. He made it clear that Modi's name and fame would be an instrument to counter the alliance politics in the state.

It was also decided at the executive that the massive show of eight lakh bikes with 16 lakh workers would be held sometimes in October. The bike yatras will emanate from all six regions of the party's organization.

The common refrain was that the convergence of a sea of bikes with saffron-clad party workers in the state capital on concluding day would send a strong message about not only the popularity of the party, but also its power in terms of strength, .

The executive committee has also decided a series of programmes for different morchas and fronts of the party which included 10 km "pad yatra" by 150 BJP workers on the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on October 2.
