Min: Wheat, rice, salt at Rs 1 per kg for poor

The Minister for Revenue, Science and Technology, Umashankar Gupta, has said that wheat, rice and salt at the rate of Rs 1 per kg is being provided to the poor.

Concentrated efforts are being made to provide houses to all the eligible houseless persons till 2022. This was informed by Gupta while distributing Smart Cards to the unorganized labourers under the Mukhya Mantri Jan-Kalyan (Sambal) Yojana at Shyam Nagar today.

Gupta informed that an amount of Rs 6,000 is being given to girl student on reaching class 6 under the Ladli Laxmi Yojana. Similarly Rs 4,000 and Rs 6,000 is being given to gilrs on reaching class 9 and 11 respectively. Free marriages of girls are being solemnized in mass marriage programmes under the Mukhya Mantri Kanyadaan/Nikaah Yojana.

An amount of Rs 25,000 is being deposited in their bank accounts too. Children’s fee of families registered under the Sambal Yojana is being deposited by the Government and medical expenses too are being borne by the government. Financial assistance of Rs 4,000 at the time of pregnancy and Rs 12,000 after the delivery is being given to women of the entitled families.

Besides, financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh in case of accidental death, Rs 2 lakh on natural death and Rs one lakh in case of permanent disability is being given.

In addition to this, Rs 5,000 is being given also to perform funeral rites. Umashankar mentioned that only Rs 200 per month against electricity bill is being charged now from the registered unorganized labourer. Local Public Representatives and people in large number were present in the programme.
