Man and woman arrested over Forest Lodge samurai sword death
A man and woman have handed themselves in to police in Sydney's inner west over the fatal stabbing of local hip hop "legend" Jett McKee last week.
Mr McKee, 30, was found dead on the road with a "massive" head wound at lunchtime on Friday after an argument broke out inside a home in Hereford Street in Forest Lodge.
McKee, who performed under the name Scepaz, was heard arguing with a man and a woman inside a home before he staggered out onto the street and collapsed.
Fairfax Media understands he was stabbed with a samurai sword, allegedly one of many inside the house where the altercation took place.
Emergency services were called to the scene, but Mr McKee was dead when they arrived.
On Saturday, police released a description of the man and woman Mr McKee was allegedly arguing with.
The hunt for the pair continued on Monday until 6pm when a man and woman handed themselves in to Newtown police station.
They were arrested, and are currently assisting detectives with inquiries.
Charges are expected to be laid.
Tributes to the "legend" of Australian hip-hop have flowed, with one fan and friend describing him as a "calm, collected and humble" soul.
"This is the last person I would have ever thought this would happen to," Liot Jekkez wrote.
"Another legend of the Sydney rap scene lost. Big luv and rest in peace my dude!" Mr Ruckman said.
