'Gunshots' heard before New Zealand tourists' windscreen shatters

Queensland Police are investigating a potential shooting near Rockhampton after two New Zealand tourists reported hearing loud bangs and the windscreen of their motorhome was shattered about 5am on Monday.

The tourists, camped overnight on Yaamba Road, heard two "loud bangs".

The windscreen was shattered and damage was done to the body of their vehicle.

No one was injured but police declared a crime scene and were investigating the cause, believing it might have been caused by gunshots.
