NEW DELHI: An 18-year-old resident of a
shelter home in north Delhi has alleged that she had been
molested and harassed by the
manager of a company during her
internship in April this year. The accused has been arrested.
In her complaint, the girl said that she had been living at the home since 2015.
The caretaker of the shelter home had sent her to intern as an office training executive at a company they had a tie-up with. “The manager would talk dirty to me. He would talk to me about periods and sex. He had also patted my back on several occasions,” she alleged in her complaint.
The woman said she did not complain that time due to the fear of losing her job. Later, she informed a counsellor and her friends and subsequently, cops were informed and the officials of the home requested her to lodge a complaint.
As she was a minor at the time of the incident, police have filed an FIR invoking sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (
POCSO) Act . DCP (west) Vijay Kumar said the wife of the accused is associated with the girl’s shelter home.
