Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik on Saturday again lashed out at the BJD and the BJP for the former supporting the NDA-backed JD(U) candidate Harivansh Naryan Singh in the election for the Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman post.

Patnaik said the equidistance policy of the BJD with the BJP has now turned into a tacit understanding and an internal alliance seems imminent.

Patnaik said, “The games of BJD and BJP have been totally exposed. Sad that BJD has chosen to ally with BJP, a party which has betrayed Odisha on every front, be it Mahanadi, land encroachment, duping people of Rourkela or insulting Muktikanta Biswal.”

He added as Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Prime Minister Narendra Modi often speak over phone, the Chief Minister should raise the issues of Mahanadi water dispute, Special Category State status and land encroachment by the Chhattisgarh and  Jharkhand BJP Governments.

He added in a Tweet that the BJP has not only been unfaithful to the people of Odisha but also betrayed its own party members. He called the BJP’s Mission 120 as “Mission 420”.
