JIND: The intelligence wing of
Haryana police have busted a gang of
robbers with the arrest of five of its members in
Jind district and claimed to have solved 29 cases of robberies.
Addressing newspersons on Saturday, Jind DSP Pawan Kumar said the police had also seized four country-made pistols, 17 cartridges and a Honda City car from those arrested. They ave been identified as Bittu, a resident of Rajpura Bhain village, Sumit of Rajpura Bhain, Krishan of Nahar Colony, Sachin of Om Nagar and Nishant of Patiala Chowk, all from Jind district. They were nabbed from the stadium of Sheela Kheri village when they were plotting to loot some passersby. The DSP said during preliminary interrogation the accused confessed to having committed various robberies in Jind, Rewari,
Karnal and Narnaul.
He said the detective team of Jind police had got secret information that some youths were planning to rob some passersby. Acting on the tip-off, the police rushed to the spot and nabbed all five accused. Pawan said 10 cases were registered against Bittu, two against Sumit, seven against Krishan, six against Sachin and four against Nishant. All accused were produced in a Jind court, which sent them to police remand for five days.
