NEW DELHI: Police have arrested a man for allegedly strangling a 27-year-old woman in northwest Delhi’s Bhalswa Dairy. Police said they received a PCR call from the woman’s husband at 2.30pm that he had found his wife unconscious. The woman was taken to hospital where she was declared brought dead.
Police said initially it appeared to be a case of suicide, but autopsy suggested that she was strangled. Investigations revealed the involvement of a stalker and a murder case was registered.

The woman’s husband, a vegetable vendor, told police that, as usual, he left home early for work. When he returned for lunch, he found his wife lying unconscious. The couple were married for two years.

He told police that a man named Ravi had been stalking his wife for some time. Cops raided Ravi’s house, but didn’t find him there. He was arrested while trying to flee the city. Police said Ravi had confessed to the murder. He told them that he was trying to convince the woman to leave her husband and marry him. When she repeatedly turned him down, he decided to kill her.
