P-plater nabbed 70km/h over speed limit

A P-plater has been caught going almost 70km/h over the speed limit in regional Victoria.

The 18-year-old driver was nabbed travelling 167km/h in a 100km/h zone on Penshurst-Dunkeld Road, near Penshurst, on Sunday.

Police pulled over the car, and the Warrnambool man's car was immediately impounded for a month.

He is expected to be charged on summons with speeding and will likely lose his licence for a year.
