Visitors flock Nandankanan Zoo to celebrate ‘World Elephant Day’

Nandankanan Zoological Park in Bhubaneswar is celebrating World Elephant Day today with many different activities for the visitors and the elephants planned out for the whole day. To mark the occasion, elephants from the zoo walked near the gate and fed different fruits like coconut, bananas, apples, sugarcane sticks, corn and watermelons. But this baby elephant steals the show during the world elephant day celebration. There are many participants from the area who come for this event including hundreds of tourists, school children, forest officials as well as Nandankanan staff who have fun being included in activities with the elephants. Many awards and felicitations are also given out to exceptional animal caretakers on this day.
