Chief Minister Raghubar Das will connect with Shravan devotees of Deogarh through video conferencing on the third holy Monday of the Shravan month in the city.

Das, who arrived in the city on Saturday, will participate in the event at Surya Mandir in Sidghora. The event will be screened live on jhargaon.tv. The district administration has also made arrangements of 32 LED vehicles through which the event will be screened live.

Every year Chief Minister walks nearly 2 km in a kalash yatra from Hari Mandir premises in Baridih to Surya Mandir in Sidhgora. More than, 20,000 devotees, take part in the kalash yatra during the function.

With the auspicious season of Shravan the city is gripped with religious fervour. The ‘HarHarMahadev’ chant and sounds of bell resonated across the city as thousands of devotees thronged temples to seek blessings of Lord Shiva on the third Monday of the auspicious Shravan month. Temples in the city have been decked up with colourful lights and flowers. The devotees wait in long queues since early morning to offer prayers to the deity and sung bhajans.

In the temples, devotees pour milk, curd, honey, ghee and bael (bilwa) leaves on Shivlings and prayed for the well-being and prosperity of the family. People also offered prasad (sweets) to the deity along with flowers which were later distributed among devotees.
