In Boudh: 2 teachers die in road mishap on way to school

In a tragic incident, two teachers, including a woman, of the Boudh Government Girls’ High School here were killed in a road mishap on their way to the school on Saturday morning.

The deceased were identified as Ajim Khan and Jyotirmayee Pradhan.

Source said the teachers were going to the school by a motorcycle when a speeding car hit their bike from behind on the Ramavikata bridge here, following which they fell off the bridge and died on the spot.

Locals detained the car driver and handed him over to police. The police sent the dead bodies to hospital for postmortem.

In a separate incident on the day, a Kanwariya was killed and eight others sustained injuries after a four-wheeler vehicle carrying them rammed into a tree near Raniganj in Boudh district. The incident occurred when the Kanwariyas, residents of Gania in Nayagarh district, were on their way to the Harishankar temple in Balangir.
