VIJAYAWADA:
Andhra Pradesh chief minister N
Chandrababu Naidu has instructed the APCRDA officials to continue the same tempo, same quality and same spirit to achieve maximum progress of the five towers of Secretariat and HoD offices above ground level within the next 8 months.
It is all set to reach a major milestone in construction of Secretariat and HoD towers by completing core wall up to 20 floors, diagrid and deck slab up to 9 floors by May 2019. Authorities and contractors have also been given a 3-month window schedule to achieve maximum visibility in the works.
Speaking to the officials in a teleconference on Sunday, the chief minister exhorted the need of increasing speed in construction works without compromising on quality and highlight the work progress. “Amaravati is a city that is for the people, by the people and of the people. It is an outcome of the strong desire of 5 crore Andhrites for their own capital. Farmers gave around 33,000 acres worth of around Rs 50,000 crore for capital construction without seeking even a single paisa. As the people want to become their dream of the best world class capital city into a reality soon, we have no option except to work hard round the clock,” he said.
The officials briefed the chief minister that they were planning to complete the entire construction of the secretariat and HoDs towers within a period of about 29 months from beginning of the works. They also said that the trunk infrastructure works were also gaining momentum. “The important seed access road in the capital city area has already been completed by above 86 %, N9 road by 70% and some other roads by 50 to 60%. Housing works are also on the fast track,” ADCL chairperson Lakshmi Parthasarathi informed the chief minister.
The chief minister opined that the rapid progress in
Amaravati and key features of people’s capital should be reflected in the tableau of APCRDA on the eve of Independence Day. The tableau should also be displayed the potentiality of Amaravati, which helps the overall economic development of the state.
Stating that the entire world is looking towards Amaravati, the chief minister said as the Amaravati has become the center of attraction to investors, several global investors, administrators, ambassadors and NRIs across the globe are frequently visiting Amaravati.
Stressing the need of maintaining world class standards in the construction works, he has instructed APCRDA commissioner to ensure third party quality check with global experts. Principal secretary to energy, I&I and CRDA informed the chief minister that they were studying the Japan model of third party quality check apart from existing system.
The chief minister further instructed officials to adopt unique public participation programs from this month (August) to make the capital city more accessible to people of the state.
Municipal administration minister P Narayana, senior officials G Sai Prasad, Ajay Jain, Ch Sreedhar, Rama Manohar Rao and Shan Mohan were present.
