Dhruv Krishna went out of control at Teynampet here in the early hours of Sunday, hitting a stationary autorickshaw and injuring its driver.
Adyar traffic investigating wing police ruled out drunk driving to be the cause of the accident. There were two more people in the car.
The accident happened on Murray's Gate Road. The injured
auto driver, Anandan, was admitted to Government Royapettah Hospital. Later, he was discharged.
The autorickshaw was damaged inTh the accident.
Dhruv has been booked under sections 279 (rash driving) and 337(causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the IPC. He was granted bail.
Police seized the car.
