We miss Sridevi every minute, she lives with us, says an emotional Boney Kapoor on actor’s birthday

On the eve of Sridevi’s birth anniversary, husband Boney Kapoor remembers the late actor. Sridevi passed away in February this year.

Sridevi’s untimely death in February left a nation shocked. Sridevi’s family – husband Boney Kapoor, daughters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor – is yet to come to terms with her death. Sridevi passed away due to accidental drowning in the tub of a hotel bathroom in Dubai on February 24.

On the eve of her birth anniversary, Boney Kapoor spoke to Pinkvilla and said, “There are heroes and then there are legends, heroes get remembered but legends never die. Sri lives with us every day… not a minute goes by when we don’t miss her.” Monday will be Sridevi’s first birthday after her death.

To mark the day, Bollywood Art Project is building an 18 feet tall mural painting of Sridevi on a building wall on Chapel Road, Bandra, Mumbai. The project involves artists Ranjit Dahiya, Kunal Dahiya, Bidisha Biswas, Arushu and Richa. They will be recreating Sridevi’s look from her hit film, Gurudev.

Boney also thanked the initiative and wrote, “.. thank u for this honour.. Boney, Jahnvi & Khushi.”

Earlier, on their 22nd wedding anniversary in June, Boney Kapoor had shared a video of Sridevi and written, “Today would have been our 22nd wedding anniversary. Jaan... My wife, my soulmate, the epitome of love, grace , warmth and laughter lives within me forever...” (sic)

Meanwhile, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has also announced a two-day retrospective of Sridevi’s films. Sridevi’s Mom, Lamhe, Mr India, English Vinglish, Sadma and Chandni will be shown on August 13 and 14 at Film Division Auditorium in New Delhi.
