The HAL police have arrested Arvind Venkatesh Reddy, entrepreneur and co-owner of Ballari Tuskers — one of the Karnataka Premier League T20 tournament teams — for allegedly assaulting two policemen on duty at a club in Marathahalli on Saturday night.

According to the police, Reddy was hosting a party that was causing disturbance. “After neighbours called the control room, head constable Anand and constable Raju Gowda visited the spot. They asked the organisers to shut down the music as it was past the deadline,” said the police.

However, Reddy allegedly abused and humiliated them. According to Mr. Gowda and Mr. Anand, he asked them to leave after telling them he was very influential and could get them into trouble. But the police refused to go, saying the music had to be turned down. “The policemen were not intimidated, but Reddy pushed them out of the club,” said a police officer. The personnel returned to the station and filed a complaint based on which Reddy was arrested by the HAL police from his house on Sunday morning.
