Lost boy found wandering lane in Sydney's south

A young boy has been discovered wandering alone in a south Sydney laneway overnight.

The boy, who police believe to be aged between 9 and 11, was found at 12.40am in Wicks Lane, Kogarah, wearing long, grey pyjamas with Marvel characters printed on them.

He had no shoes on.

The laneway is located near St George Hospital and St George Police Station, as well as the Kogarah train station and nearby shopping strip.

St George police searched the area with the child but were unable to find his parents or carers.

Police say the boy suffers a medical condition and has not been able to identify himself or give officers any clues about his identity or home.

Police have released a photo of the boy and are appealing to the public to help find those looking after him.

He is described as being about 155cm tall, and of being Caucasian in appearance, with a thin build, short dark hair and brown eyes.
