Students present cultural programmes on patriotism

The Mega Freedom Run, organised by the Karimnagar Commissionerate of Police, was marked by participants raising slogans here on Friday.

School and college students, NCC and NSS volunteers, representatives of voluntary organisations, government and private employees participated in the 4K run from Ambedkar Stadium to SRR Government Degree and PG College grounds.

In response to the call given by Commissioner of Police V.B. Kamalasan Reddy, the schools and college managements encouraged their students to participate in the run, who arrived at the stadium in school and college buses. Also, they presented cultural programmes on patriotism on the occasion.

Earlier in the day, Mr. Kamalasan Reddy flagged off the run that passed through Collectorate, Indira Chowk, R&B guesthouse and court crossroads that ended at SRR college grounds. A major attraction was NSS and NCC volunteers carrying a 100-meter-long national flag.

Karimnagar range DIG P. Pramod Kumar, TSCAB Chairman K. Ravinder Rao, Karimnagar legislator Gangula Kamalakar, MLC Naradasu Laxman Rao, Mayor S. Ravinder Singh, Municipal Commissioner K. Shashanka, police and revenue officials participated in the run.
