Raman launches ‘Chief Minister Tiffin Scheme’

Governemt is winning many a hearts, working hard on the construction of bridges, road and buildings to facilitate people with better life.

Government is making effort to bring light in life of each poor person. Schemes for educating the children, insurance scheme, ‘Kanyadaan’ (marriage of daughter) and others are for bringing joy in their life. Government means to bring joy in every house, said Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh.

He was addressing the launch of new scheme ‘Chief Minister Tiffin Scheme’ in a function organised at Sardar Balbir Juneja Indoor Stadium, Budhatalab, capital city Raipur.

The CM said 10.80 lakh Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) workers within one to one-and-a-half months would get the ‘Tiffin’. He said the scheme format was laid at Bialspur district.

Sharing experience he said that during ‘Vikas Yatra’ in Bilaspur district, in remote village had gone to see MGNREGA work.

Workers had brought food in cloth, some in plastic and were consuming it under a tree.

“I had desire taste the food, so asked for few from a woman, who said it is less but even then sought it. She gave a part of her food which was totally mixed. It was with tomato paste and tasty.

Then, the thought came that these workers should get something to carry their food safely. Few schemes are generated from heart; one is this scheme, for the working brothers and sisters.”

Raman highlighted the 14 lakh people getting slippers mainly the tribal tendu leaves pluckers, the scheme was mocked much by opposition, distribution of PDS rice, free salt among others at bare minimum price, the first state to provide 150 days of MGNREGA employment and maternity leave with wages during three months.

He added health smart card is providing free treatment to poor patients in hospitals, which has been hiked to Rs 50,000 from Rs 30,000.

Now, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the ‘Ayushmaan Scheme’ where 5.40 lakh family would get free treatment, which would be long-term upto 20 years

Chief Minister said now no one can change the schemes as state has made laws for it, it is not considered as a election scheme, and then it is for generations.

“State has attained 18 years of age, earlier it was known for migration; hunger deaths were reported now it is known as ‘Fort of development’. Mobile distribution to around 40 lakh sisters is causing pain in stomach of many. Village women are now talking directly to me and giving blessings. They can now talk to their grand-children and family members,” he points out.

For last 15 years, with responsibility government has provided good houses, power supply, school-colleges near house so children can go for studies, better roads for transportation, he added.
