Women gherao Tarbha police station

Hundreds of women from Deogon panchayat under Tarbha block gheraoed the Tarbha police station on Friday over a land row.

One Purnachandra Guru had been encroaching upon a Government plot from many years and making false allegations against some villagers.

Reportedly the villagers had informed the matter to the Tehsildar manytimes, but without any result.

Finally, they gheraoed the police station and shouted slogans against the police for inaction. IIC SB Chatriya tried to pacify them.

Later, additional tehsildar Sumanta Kumbhat and IIC Chatriya went toDeogaon village and settled the matter.

The illegal occupant was asked to vacate the plot in 15 days. Tulsi Mahakur, Kuni Guru, Subhasini Bag and Rani led the agitators.
