SA's Advocate Dali Mpofu to lead legal team challenging Zim's Mnangagwa election victory – report
South Africa's Advocate Dali Mpofu is reportedly set to lead a legal team to challenge Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his Zanu-PF party's victory in the just ended elections – on behalf of the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) Alliance.
The MDC vowed earlier this week to overturn in court, Mnangagwa's narrow election victory, alleging that he won the historic vote via "mammoth theft and fraud".

Senior Zimbabwean opposition figure Tendai Biti on Thursday was charged with inciting public violence and declaring unofficial election results as fears grew about a government crackdown following the disputed July 30 election.
The court appearance followed dramatic events in which Biti fled to Zambia, was denied asylum and was handed over to Zimbabwean security forces in defiance of a Zambian court order. Western diplomats, including the United States, and the UN refugee agency quickly expressed concern.
"We will keep on fighting," Biti said as he arrived at court in the capital, Harare.

Zimbabwe opposition on deadline to appeal election result
Zimbabwe's defeated opposition faced a deadline on Friday to file its legal challenge to try to overturn the July 30 election result, which has been mired in fraud allegations and a government crackdown on opponents.
The MDC party alleges that the vote result was rigged and President Emmerson Mnangagwa's narrow victory was due to a falsified vote count in Zimbabwe's first election since the end of Robert Mugabe's rule.
Mnangagwa, who is seeking to reverse Zimbabwe's economic isolation and attract desperately needed foreign investment, had vowed the elections would turn a page on Mugabe's repressive 37-year rule.

Zim: 'We're being harassed everywhere we go,' Chamisa's lawyers claim
Zimbabwean opposition leader Nelson Chamisa's lawyers have reportedly claimed that they are being "trailed" by suspected state agents, as they prepare to submit court papers challenging President Emmerson Mnangagwa's narrow election victory.
According to New Zimbabwe.com, the Movement for Democratic Change leader, Nelson Chamisa's lawyer, Thabane Mpofu, said they were being harassed everywhere by the suspected state agents.
"We are being harassed everywhere we go. Just two days ago, my car was being followed as well as four of our lawyers working the court challenge," Mpofu was quoted as saying.

Zimbabwe's opposition challenges election results in court
Zimbabwe's main opposition party on Friday was filing a legal challenge to the results of the country's first election without Robert Mugabe on the ballot.
Lawyers for the Movement for Democratic Change party arrived at court less than an hour before the deadline to submit papers alleging the July 30 vote was rigged. They were accompanied by Jameson Timba, the chief election agent for the party led by Nelson Chamisa.
"We have a good case and cause!" Chamisa said on Twitter.
