The Congress has geared up to take up the issues of deteriorating law and order situation in Haryana, huge expenditure by the BJP Government on publicity, grievances of  government employees among others during the monsoon session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha, starting August 17.

Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Friday said the law and order situation in the State has worsened under the BJP’s rule. SI of Haryana Police was killed outside court premises recently and such incidents are happening every other day in the State, he alleged.

While the State Government is busy in spending crores of rupees in publicity, the State employees are on streets to protest over their demands, Hooda said while talking to the mediapersons here.

“The party will raise all these issues during the monsoon session of Haryana Assembly, he said.

The two-time former CM also attacked the ruling BJP over the de-notification of Dadupur Nalvi irrigation project, pending payment to sugarcane farmers, non-completion of Sutlej Yamuna Link canal and for taking constant u-turns on its various decisions.

When asked about the expected change in state Congress leadership, Hooda said we are hopeful that Congress president Rahul Gandhi will soon take a decision in this regard.

On Congress’ chief ministerial candidate in Haryana state assembly polls 2019, Hooda said, the decision in this regard will be taken by the party high command and elected MLAs.

Criticising the State Government for dera violence 2017,  the senior Congress leader said that the BJP government failed to control violence in August last year in Panchkula and then, later slapped sedition charges on dera people.

Now, the court has dropped sedition charges exposing the big failure of State Government during last year’s violence, he said.

When asked about Haryana Ministers’ allegations of his involvement in inciting violence during Jat agitation 2016, Hooda said all charges are false and baseless.

“At one time, Haryana Ministers Ram Bilas Sharma and Anil Vij had themselves accepted their government’s failure in preventing violence during Jat protest 2016. But now, all of them (Ministers) are blaming me and leveling false allegations against me,” he added.

Slamming the State Government for burgeoning debt liability, Hooda said that the debt liability has increased to over Rs 1.50 lakh while the government is busy in event management.

This is not  a government but an event management company which is wasting crores of public money in its publicity, he added. On controversy surrounding NRC, the former CM said, everyone knows that the BJP is finding ways to divide people on caste and religion lines.
