Busting a conspiracy to undertake terror activities in various places across Maharashtra, including Mumbai, Pune and Satara, Maharashtra’s Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested three right-wing activists and seized explosives and material used for making explosives from them.

After raids at various places at Nalla Sophara in the neighbouring Thane district on Thursday night, the ATS arrested three right wing activists —Vaibhav Raut, Sharad Kalaskar and Sudhnava Ghondhalekar— and claimed to have foiled the attempts to engineer terror attacks in Mumbai, Pune, Satara, Solapur and Nala Sophara.

The three arrested right wing activists were produced before a Magistrate’s court at Bhoiwada in south Mumbai which remanded them in police custody till August 18.

While Raut and Kalaskar are residents from Nalla Sophara, Gondhalekar hails from Satara in western Maharashtra. Raut was arrested from Nala Sophara, Kalaskar and Gondhlekar were picked up from Vasai.
