State Women’s Commission chairperson Nannapaneni Rajakumari and MLC A.S. Ramakrishna gave away the Indian Icon-2018 awards to 16 persons from AP and Telangana for their contributions in their respective fields.
The awards were presented by The Philanthropic Society in a ceremony held at the Press Club on Saturday.

Sesha Prasad (Lakkavaram), Sk. Shakeena (Khammam), C. Ravindar Yadav (Hyderabad), V. Vara Lakshmi (Guntur), K.M. Lal Nehru (West Godavari) D. Udaya Bhasar Rao (Eluru), P. Siva Kumar (Guntur), B. Goerge Muller (Nandigama), Y. Vijayasai Kumar (Anantapur) and P. Dinesh Kumar (Rajhmundry) received the awards.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Rajakumari appreciated the Philanthropic Society’s founder A. Raja Yonah for his social service and encouraging activists in various fields. She stressed on the need for more such organisations to address the problems of the society.
