Noyyal riverbed cleaned on spot after Aadi Amavasai

Coimbatore: A day when several hundreds of people performed special pujas and offered prayers in memory of their forefathers on the Noyyal riverbed at Perur Padithurai on the occasion of Aadi Amavasai, volunteers of Kovai Kulangal Pathukaapu Amaippu ensured that the river banks were not polluted with plastic and other waste.
They collected around one tonne plastic waste from the river bed on Saturday.

To clean the river bed, volunteers of Kovai Kulangal Pathukaapu Amaippu had come to the spot as early as 6am. They were assisted by the NSS cadets of Angappa and Kongunadu College of Arts and Science. tnn
