Global Skill Park branch to open in city

Indore : A branch of Global Skill Park, Bhopal, will open in the city. This will offer advance courses required for industry to students. It will open at Vaishnav Polytechnic College premises in MOG Line.

State skill development minister Deepak Joshi made an announcement to this effect at a function on skill development organised at office of Association of Industries of Madhya Pradesh (AIMP) here on Friday.

In his address, Joshi said chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has granted approval for the proposal.  He expressed hope that park will help in providing skilled workforce to industries in and around city. More than 5,000 small, medium and heavy industries are located in and around Indore.

He said education and skill play an important role in industrial growth. “Youths trained with better skills are coming out from ITIs compared to engineering colleges. At present, 228 ITIs exist and no seats are vacant in them while 40 engineering colleges have closed,” Joshi said.
