Under a unique initiative, around 60,000 saplings of lemon trees will be planted in 60,000 houses in 60 minutes at Haryana’s Badli Assembly constituency from 9 am to 10 am on Saturday.

A team of 6,000 dedicated youth would complete this target, said Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, OP Dhankar, who is an MLA from Baldi Assembly constituency.

Dhankar said plantation is being carried out every year in monsoon season. But, this time, it has been decided to launch ‘Har Ghar Sanjeevani Abhiyan’ to ensure proper care of planted trees, he said.

The Minister himself visited all villages to connect with people for the campaign.

People, especially youth, have come forward to participate in this campaign. For this purpose, 1,200 teams each comprising five nature lovers has been constituted in the entire town, he said.

Dhankar also said every youth would get trees planted in ten houses within one hour.

He said streetwise committees have been constituted in villages and responsibilities have been fixed by dividing the town into clusters. The plantation drive would provide unique identity to Badli constituency, he added.
