Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) on Friday issued a notice to Station House Officer (SHO) of Mandir Marg Police Station and the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) School of Gole Market seeking information about the 6-year-old raped inside the premises of the school.

Earlier on Friday, DCW Chief Swati Maliwal tweeted, “6 year old girl raped in a school in Delhi. Strongest action should be taken against culprit who should be hanged within 6 months under the new law. DCW is issuing notice to Delhi Police and school authority - to ascertain safety measures implemented in the school.”

The Commission has asked the police to submit a factual report of the matter and the action under taken. DCW has sought some information from the school authorities on the steps taken by the school to ensure safety of the children. They questioned the school on whether they were aware of the incident
