Father of the missing software engineer has filed the petition

The High Court of Karnataka on Thursday reserved its verdict on a petition seeking transfer of the probe into the case of missing software engineer Kumar Ajitabh to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Ashok Kumar Sinha, Ajitabh’s father, had filed the petition.

Ajitabh, who went to meet an unknown person on December 18, 2017 for selling his car — for which he had advertised though an online portal — is untraceable till now.

Initially, the probe was conducted by the Whitefield police and later, a Special Investigation Team was formed under the direct control of the Police Commissioner on the suggestion made by the High Court. Subsequently, the case was transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department as the city police got busy in the elections to the State Assembly. But no considerable progress has been made by any of investigating agency so far.
