The body of the 26-year-old engineer, who drowned in the Bhadra at Ambateertha near Kalasa in Mudigere taluk on July 26, was found at Haluvalli on Thursday.
Kiran Kotyan, an employee with MCF at Panambur in Mangaluru, was on a visit to Kalasa along with his friends on July 26. During a visit to Ambateertha, he fell into the river. Since then, local people, a team of NDRF have conducted search operations.
Srinivas, a resident of Haluvalli, on Thursday called up the Kalasa Police to inform that he spotted a body floating in the river near the village. Kalasa Police Inspector Ramachandra and his team rushed to the spot and with the help of expert swimmer Bhaskar traced the body to Magundi Bridge later in the day.
The deceased is a native of Thumbe village in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada district.
