RRB ALP 2018 examination, conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board in four stages, is scheduled to be held from August 9 to August 31.

There will be first stage CBT, second stage CBT, computer-based aptitude test and document verification.

By now you must have gained the complete understanding of the topics, subjects, concepts, basics and the pattern of the exam. It is time now you to work on your strategy to attempt the exam.

Before framing the strategy, you must be aware of the exam pattern for RRB ALP 2018 exam.

If this is your first attempt at RRB exam, it is important to go through some of the previous years’ questions papers. This will give you an idea of the actual pattern and you will also be able to gauge your preparation for the exam.

You can attempt a few mock tests with a timer as the best way to get close to your test preparedness. Beside attempting the mock tests, a proper analysis of the same is most important.

Here is a plan that can be executed after attempting each mock:

* Check your score and go through the complete test again. Solve each of your correct questions again and check whether your solution could be replaced by an alternate short method to solve. If yes, make sure that you attempt the same type with that short method in the next test. Because to attempt 75 questions in 60 minutes demands speed and accuracy simultaneously.

* Then look for the solution of the questions that you attempted wrong. Make sure you don’t repeat the same mistake.

* Questions you were unable to solve need an attempt again and finally go through the solution, and check for the concept that needs to be built.

* In RRB ALP exam, you will always find 10-15 questions which do not need to be solved to get the answer. Hit and trial can work for these types. While attempting a mock, you must identify the questions that can be attempted by putting an option.

* Option elimination can also work in few logic-based problems.

Coming back to the actual exam, you must keep in mind that there is a negative marking of 1/3rd. Don’t go solving random questions which you are not confident about. This will increase the change of getting negative marks.

Don’t spend too much time on any question where you are stuck. You got so many questions to attempt in 60 minutes. If you feel that some of the questions are taking more than expected time to get solved, leave them and move ahead.

That is why we say the mantra of cracking any exam depends not only on the preparation but on a strategical preparation.

All the best!
