Vij suspends two officials for giving wrong info under RTI

Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij on Thursday suspended two officials for providing wrong information under the Right to Information (RTI) Act and directed to get the matter investigated from any senior IAS officer, the report of which will be submitted within a month.

Superintendent of Health Department, Rohtas Kumar and Assistant Pankaj have been suspended by the Minister.

Vij, while talking to the mediapersons here said that providing wrong information to a resident of Gurugram under the RTI Act, these officials had stated that no new building of hospitals had been constructed in Haryana after 2014.

He said that these officials had deliberately given such information which has maligned the image of the Health Department.

 The Minister claimed that the present State Government had not only completed the buildings of the hospitals approved by the previous State Government, but also get constructed new buildings.

Giving details, Vij said that 86 buildings approved during the tenure of the Congress Government were also got completed by the present State Government after 2014 and a sum of Rs 282.21 crore was spent on them.

Similarly, the present Govt has got constructed 12 new buildings of hospitals at a cost of Rs 122.83 crore. Apart from this, administrative approval has been given for construction of 136 new buildings at a cost of Rs 643.41 crore, he said. The State Government has also given approval for establishing four new medical colleges and construction of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Medical University at Karnal and Shri Krishna Ayush University at Kurukshetra are under progress, Vij added.
